Himalayan University Shines in 5th Convocation with Esteemed Guests

Itanagar: Himalayan University (HU) cast a luminous glow on September 23, 2023, as it hosted its 5th convocation at the enchanting Jullang Campus in Itanagar. The event radiated with the presence of distinguished guests and luminaries, amplifying the grandeur of this significant occasion.

Swami Kripakarananda Maharaj Ji, a revered spiritual leader, graced the ceremony as the chief guest, while the illustrious Prof. Narendranath S, Director of NERIST, Itanagar, A.P., stood as the guest of honor. The convocation also had the privilege of welcoming Dr. A.K. Mishra, Deputy Director of Higher Education, along with Prof. Dr. Prakash Divakaran, the Pro Vice Chancellor of HU, and Mr. Dileep Jain, Joint Registrar of HU. Adding to the luster of the event, eminent guests represented prestigious organizations, including CSIR-NEIST, GB-Pant-NIHE, ZSI, RARI, and the esteemed Shri Tani Loffa, the Local Chairman of HU, and SP City Rohit Ji.

The convocation commenced with the resonant declaration of its opening by the Vice Chancellor of Himalayan University. This symbolic beginning was further illuminated by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a gesture carried out by several luminaries, including Prof. Kuldeep Krishan Sharma, the VC of HU, Swami Kripakarananda Maharaj Ji, Secretary of RK Mission Hospital, Prof. Narendranath S, Director of NERIST, Dr. A.K. Mishra, Director of Higher Education, A.P., Prof. Dr. Prakash Divakaran, Pro Vice Chancellor of HU, Mr. Dileep Jain, Joint Registrar of HU, and Dr. K. Karthikeyan, Registrar of HU.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor of Himalayan University extended a gracious welcome to the distinguished guests and dignitaries, also taking the opportunity to present the annual report of the university. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the remarkable cooperation of both the teaching faculty and non-teaching staff, underscoring their pivotal role in reshaping the delivery of education to the students.

A momentous highlight of the convocation was when the HU Vice Chancellor administered the oath to the accomplished students before bestowing upon them their well-earned degrees and medals. In this year’s convocation, a remarkable total of 968 degrees and diplomas were bestowed upon students hailing from diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses across various academic disciplines.

Prof. Narendranath S, the Director of NERIST, bestowed invaluable insights upon the audience, outlining future strategies for the students. He encouraged them to set their sights on national-level tests such as NET, GATE, SET, UPSC, stressing the significance of meticulous planning and the pursuit of achievable goals in the journey ahead.

The zenith of the event was the captivating convocation address by Swami Kripakarananda Ji. He lauded Himalayan University for its unwavering commitment to fostering an environment conducive to delivering quality education. His words resonated deeply with the students, instilling within them a mantra for achieving success in their personal and professional lives. Swami Ji also emphasized the pivotal role that students play within their families and society after acquiring their degrees, showering them with heartfelt wishes for their radiant futures.
